Target Sports Warrington East AST

Who are we?

We are a Scouts Active Support Team, that provides target sports activities to Scouts and Explorers in Warrington East.

What do we do?

We aim to provide Scouts and Explorers the opportunity to experience a wide variety of target sports. We currently provide air rifle and air pistol shooting, as well as archery and crossbow experiences. This can be as a one-off event, coming along to our club nights or as a regular attendee.

If the troop or unit is large enough, we can arrange specific events or support you on a camp or activity event.

For those who attend the club nights regularly we run a program that will allow Scouts to gain their Master at Arms badge and Explorers their Physical Recreation badge.

Where do we do it?

We have a multi disciplined team that run activities at 4 locations across the district:

• Glazebury Scout HQ- Air Rifle and Air Pistol Shooting
• Grappenhall Scout HQ – Archery
• Thellwall Scout HQ – Air Rifle and Air Pistol Shooting
• The Oaks, Culcheth – Outdoor shooting & archery
• Culcheth Scout HQ – a indoor Archery

Hi Everyone, the Target Sports Warrington East team would like to thank all the young people, instructors who have helped and supported the team during 2025 and we are looking forward to another busy year in 2026.  Target Sports provides Scouts & Explorers further opportunities in 2026 to complete their Master at Arms or Physical Recreation Badges. 

Our club is open to all Scouts & Explorers, who are welcome to come along but please email to WE Target Sports Team Leader to book a slot.  Parents can join our Target Sports Parents WhatsApp group for updates. For Scouts and Explorer units group bookings can also be arranged, please book with Jon.  Sessions are available to Cub packs by arrangement, again please contact Jon.

Cost is £3.50 per person, per session.  Indoor sessions are held at the 3rd Warrington Scout Centre, Jackson Avenue, Culcheth WA3 4EJ and are limited to 16 young people per session and outdoor sessions are held at The Oaks, 608 Warrington Rd, Croft, Warrington WA3 6BG,  30  young people limit for outdoor sessions.
