Warrington Scout Campsite: Pitches and Facilities

Our site has several pitches and a range of facilities that can be used, you can find out more below.

Our Pitches

We have 4 pitches for you to choose from, of various sizes.

  1. Bridgewater Pitch
  2. Higgy’s Pitch
  3. Gilwell Pitch
  4. Rectory Pitch

Facilities

Camping and HQ use

Our site facilities are available for hire to Scouts and other youth groups. You can choose from three levels of site provision:

  1. Book both the HQ and the campsite together. (For example the Scout HQ could be booked for indoor-only events).
  2. Use of one or more campsite pitches, including use of the male and female toilets, and showers on site (A disabled toilet and shower wet room is available).
  3. Full use of the 25th Warrington East Scout HQ, including hall, toilets and full kitchen etc.

If the full campsite is not booked we may allow more than one camping group on the site.

Other Facilities

Canoeing/Canal access

The site has direct access to the Bridgewater Canal from an onsite gate. Warrington East’s Paddles Blazing water activities support unit, may be able to provide canoeing activities from the site on request.

Fires / Campfire

There is an area on site for campfires and some alter fires are available for use by groups.

Parking

There is a small car park on site, suitable for leaders vehicles, please be mindful of the local community when arranging drop offs and collection for young people.

Water / Pots washing

There is a water point and washing station available for use by campers. Those who have booked the HQ will also have access to the kitchen in the building.

Rubbish

The campsite does not have bins for visitors use.

Very important: please bag and remove all rubbish off the campsite, do not use the Scout Hall’s own bins.  

Litter pick the site and leave campfire area tidy.
